Wine Tastings

Our wine tastings continue to be a highlight of the month, bringing together wine enthusiasts to explore an impressive selection of 35-50 wines. With tables hosted by knowledgeable wine representatives, guests have the chance to learn about the wines they are tasting while enjoying complimentary charcuterie from Geist Charcuterie. It's not just about discovering new wines; it's also an opportunity to connect with fellow wine lovers and expand your palate! If you haven’t joined us yet, details for upcoming events can be found on our social media pages and in our weekly newsletter. Be sure to sign up on our website so you don’t miss out! Below are the crowd favorites from last weekend and some more information about them.

TreCase Prosecco Treviso Extra Dry

For those who love a refreshing bubbly, TreCase Prosecco Treviso Extra Dry is a must-try. With vibrant notes of green apple, pear, and white flowers, this sparkling wine from the Veneto region of Italy is crisp and lively. Prosecco is made using the Charmat method, which helps preserve its fresh and fruity character. Treviso, located in the heart of Prosecco country, is known for producing some of the finest expressions of this beloved Italian sparkler.

Fun fact: Prosecco’s bubbles are softer than Champagne’s due to its fermentation process!

Tarima Organic Monastrell

A bold and fruit-forward red from Spain, Tarima Organic Monastrell showcases rich notes of blackberries, plums, and a hint of spice. This wine is made from organically grown Monastrell grapes, which thrive in the hot Mediterranean climate. Produced by Bodegas Volver, a winery dedicated to preserving traditional Spanish varietals with a modern approach, this wine is a perfect example of Monastrell’s depth and complexity.

Fun fact: Monastrell is also known as Mourvèdre in France and Mataro in Australia!

Olianas Cannonau

Cannonau, the Sardinian name for Grenache, is celebrated for its rich, full-bodied character. Olianas Cannonau offers flavors of ripe red berries, spice, and earthy undertones, with smooth tannins and a long finish. Olianas is committed to organic and biodynamic farming, ensuring sustainability in every bottle.

Fun Fact: Sardinia is known for its high number of centenarians, and many believe that the local diet—including daily glasses of Cannonau—contributes to longevity. A glass of this wine might just be your secret to a long, happy life!

Clos de l’Espérance Bordeaux

A classic Bordeaux blend, Clos de l’Espérance offers a harmonious mix of black currant, plum, and subtle oak nuances. This wine comes from the Entre-Deux-Mers region, which is known for producing high-quality yet accessible Bordeaux wines. The estate follows sustainable practices to enhance the purity of its fruit and terroir expression.

Fun Fact: Bordeaux has been making wine for over 2,000 years, and its wines remain some of the most sought-after in the world. This bottle is a great introduction to the elegance and structure Bordeaux is known for.

Santa Cristina Cabernet Sauvignon

Santa Cristina, an iconic winery from Tuscany, brings us a smooth and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas of ripe cherries, blackcurrants, and a hint of Mediterranean herbs. Founded in 1946, Santa Cristina has a long tradition of producing wines that reflect the Italian terroir. This wine blends the classic structure of Cabernet with a touch of Italian charm, making it an excellent choice for pairing with a variety of dishes.

Fun fact: Santa Cristina is owned by the famed Antinori family, one of Italy’s most renowned winemaking dynasties!

Paso D' Oro Cabernet Sauvignon

Hailing from California, Paso D' Oro Cabernet Sauvignon is a crowd-pleaser with lush dark fruit flavors, notes of cassis, vanilla, and a touch of oak. The Paso Robles region, where this wine originates, is known for its warm days and cool nights, allowing the grapes to ripen fully while maintaining their acidity. This results in a well-balanced and approachable Cabernet.

Fun Fact: Paso Robles’ wine scene has been booming in recent years, often being compared to Napa Valley for its high-quality wines at a more accessible price point.
